# Get-OSDCoreDriverPackCatalogSurface

Retrieves the Microsoft Surface driver pack catalog, enriching entries from live download pages.

| Property | Value                 |
| -------- | --------------------- |
| Module   | OSD                   |
| Platform | WinPE (amd64 / arm64) |

## Description

Loads the bundled surface.json catalog as the offline base. For entries that include an UpdatePage URL, the function scrapes the corresponding Microsoft download page to find the newest available MSI and updates FileName, Url, and ReleaseDate accordingly. Results are cached in $env:TEMP so subsequent calls within the same session skip network requests. Falls back to base JSON values when a page cannot be reached.

## Syntax

```powershell
Get-OSDCoreDriverPackCatalogSurface [[-LocalDriverPackCatalog] <String>] [-Force] [-LocalOnly]
 [-ProgressAction <ActionPreference>] [<CommonParameters>]
```

## Parameters

| Parameter                 | Type              | Required | Description                                                                                       |
| ------------------------- | ----------------- | -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `-LocalDriverPackCatalog` | `String`          | False    | Path to the local fallback Surface catalog JSON file.                                             |
| `-Force` | `SwitchParameter` | False | Forces bypass of the temp cache and rebuilds the enriched catalog from the local Surface catalog. |
| `-LocalOnly` | `SwitchParameter` | False | Uses only local catalog values and skips connectivity probing and all live UpdatePage checks. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://www.osdeploy.com/powershell-modules/osd/get-osdcoredriverpackcatalogsurface.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
